Behind the Lens

Hi I am Paarth Dewan, a first-generation Indian American storyteller in my final year at The University of Texas at Austin, where I study Film, Business, Data Science, and Advertising.

I took a gap year to explore every corner of the entertainment world, each place teaching me something new about people, patience, and purpose. What I learned is simple: stories are what connect us, no matter where we’re from.

I’m drawn to scripted crime thrillers, sports documentaries, and feature adult animation: worlds where truth, tension, and humanity collide. I love exploring what drives people: the choices they make, the lines they cross, the moments that reveal who they really are. 

My passion lies at the intersection of creative development, content strategy, global acquisitions, and content programming:: figuring out why a story hooks someone, how tone and pacing shape emotion, and how smart narrative and deal decisions can move audiences and expand business opportunities in ways data alone can’t

At my core, I’m fascinated by the balance between instinct and insight: between the art of storytelling and the science of understanding people. I want to build stories that endure, that make people feel something real, even for a moment.

One day, I hope to be running a studio or network that empowers creators to take bold risks and tell stories that reflect—and redefine—the world we live in

My Philosophy

I believe stories aren’t just entertainment — they’re how we connect, inspire, and remember. In a world where time is the most valuable resource, I’m passionate about finding ways to capture and hold audience attention. My focus lies at the intersection of film/TV development, streaming strategy, and emerging technologies such as AI and virtual production.

Professional Experience

I’ve worked as a Production Assistant and Camera Assistant across leading networks and studios. These experiences have given me a strong foundation in collaboration, set communication, and industry professionalism.

Beyond Production

My background extends into marketing, ad sales, streaming business strategy, studio operations, brand management, current programming, sourcing, and distribution. I’ve built pitch decks, coordinated creative teams, and developed workflows that bridge the gap between art and commerce.

My Vision

Ultimately, my goal is to create stories that resonate on a human level — stories that spark emotion, reflection, and connection. Film has the power to shift perspectives, inspire change, and remind us of our shared humanity. By merging technical precision with creative vision, I aim to craft media that not only entertains, but also leaves a lasting impact.
